With CBD becoming more popular for health reasons, people are finding more ways to incorporate cannabidiol into their diets.
The forthcoming cookbook Cooking With CBD: 50 Delicious Cannabidiol- and Hemp-Infused Recipes for Whole Body Healing Without the High features 50 breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes that incorporate cannabis and hemp. Being released on July 14 by Ulysses Press, it couldn’t come at a better time.
Anxiety is the number one ailment that CBD consumers report, according to research by the Brightfield Group, and up to 40 percent of consumers plan to use CBD more frequently because of COVID-19.
Cooking With CBD is the first cookbook for Jen Hobbs, who also wrote American Hemp: How Growing Our Newest Cash Crop Can Improve Our Health, Clean Our Environment, and Slow Climate Change. She’s not new to the cannabis industry, however.
Her family owned and operated a medical-marijuana collective in Shasta County, California, before that state legalized recreational marijuana. Following the U.S. federal legalization of hemp, her family founded Nature’s Nectar, a CBD extraction and wholesale facility. She now lives in Missouri.
With her new book, Hobbs helps home cooks understand how to incorporate CBD into everyday foods and drinks and how to calculate appropriate dosages.
Recipes include Lemon Poppy Seed Pancakes, Gorgonzola Alfredo Pear and Prosciutto Pasta, Chicken Chili Tortilla Soup, Balsamic-Glazed Grilled Pork Chops, Crispy Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings, Mojo Shredded Slow Cooker Chicken, Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie, Strawberry Hemp Sorbet, and No-Bake Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bars.
The recipes hide the taste of CBD, and most take less than 30 minutes to make.
Millennials might want to consider seeking out the book when it comes out.
According to Brightfield Group’s CBD consumer insights, 22 percent of CBD users are “stressed-out Millennials”. Eighty-seven percent of them report having anxiety, 51 percent say they have depression, and 29 percent suffer from insomnia. They say they’re using CBD to seek relief from these issues and for overall well-being.
Thirty-six percent of stressed-out millennials say they use CBD five or more times per week, and 63 percent say they use it at least once per week.
